Juicy, tender Salisbury steak patties smothered in rich mushroom and onion gravy make for a classic comfort meal that’s easy to prepare and satisfying to eat. Perfect with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles!
Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80% lean)

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 egg
-
2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tbsp vegetable oil

8 oz mushrooms, sliced

1 cup beef broth
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1/2 cup water
Instructions

Mix Patties:
In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval patties. -
Cook Patties:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside. -
Make Gravy:
In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until tender. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Simmer until thickened. -
Combine & Simmer:
Return patties to skillet. Spoon gravy over and simmer 10 minutes until cooked through. -
Serve:
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles.
Notes

Use fresh mushrooms for best flavor, or substitute with canned if needed.
