Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Tzatziki:

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt

  • ¼ cup grated cucumber (squeezed dry)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: chopped fresh dill

To Serve:

  • 4 pita or flatbreads

  • Sliced tomato, red onion, cucumber

  • Crumbled feta cheese

  • Extra parsley or dill (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Make the Meatballs:
In a bowl, mix turkey, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, spices, and herbs. Form into small meatballs (about 1-inch).

  • Cook Meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.

  • Prepare Tzatziki:
In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. Stir in dill if using.

  • Assemble Gyros:
Warm pita bread. Add 3–4 meatballs per gyro, top with sliced veggies, tzatziki, and feta. Garnish with herbs.

Notes

  • Use whole-wheat pita for a fiber boost.

  • Meal prep tip: cook the meatballs ahead and reheat before serving.

  • Tzatziki can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
