Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. Make Crust & Topping:
    In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter until crumbly.

  3. Assemble Bars:
    Press half the crumb mixture into the pan to form the crust. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over it. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.

  4. Bake:
    Bake for 28–30 minutes until golden and set.

  5. Cool & Serve:
    Let cool completely before cutting into bars. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

  • Use your favorite cherry pie filling or homemade cherry preserves.

  • For extra texture, add chopped nuts to the crumb topping.
