  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

This sweet, creamy breakfast bake features buttery croissants layered with juicy berries and rich custard, baked to golden perfection. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing brunch dish that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants, torn into chunks

  • 1 ½ cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Powdered sugar (for garnish)

  • Optional: maple syrup or whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: To 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or similar baking dish.

  2. Assemble Bake: Spread croissant pieces in dish, sprinkle with berries.

  3. Make Custard: In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over croissants and berries.

  4. Soak & Bake: Let sit 10 minutes. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until set and golden.

  5. Serve: Dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm with syrup or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Day-old croissants work best—they soak up the custard without getting soggy.

  • Use any berry combo: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries.

  • Add lemon zest or a dash of cinnamon for a flavor twist.

  • This dish can be assembled the night before and baked in the morning.
