Description

Layered with creamy pudding, fresh bananas, and vanilla wafers, this banana pudding is a classic Southern-style dessert that’s rich, nostalgic, and impossible to resist. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, or anytime you’re craving comfort in a bowl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 2 cups cold milk

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (or whipped cream)

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced

  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies (about 4050 cookies)

Instructions

  1. Make Pudding: In a bowl, whisk pudding mix with cold milk. Let sit 2–3 minutes to thicken.

  2. Combine: Stir in condensed milk until smooth, then fold in whipped topping.

  3. Layer: In a trifle dish or 9×13 pan, layer wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture. Repeat layers, ending with pudding.

  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

  5. Serve: Garnish with extra whipped topping, banana slices, or crushed cookies if desired.

Notes

  • Best served within 24 hours to keep bananas fresh.

  • For extra flavor, use banana pudding mix instead of vanilla.

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract for a twist.

  • Individual servings in mason jars are great for parties!
