Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 2 cups peeled, diced apples

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    Preheat to 425°F (220°C).

  • Prepare Apple Filling:
In a bowl, toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Set aside.

  • Make Biscuit Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until dough forms.

  • Assemble Biscuits:
Roll dough to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into rounds. Place a spoonful of apple filling on half the rounds, top with remaining rounds, and pinch edges to seal.

  • Bake:
Place on baking sheet, brush tops with melted butter. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.

  • Serve:
Let cool slightly before enjoying warm.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
